The Jamaica Teachers Association, JTA says it remains committed to its advocacy for better compensation and working conditions for the nation’s educators.

Speaking at a National Education Week church service on Sunday, JTA President Leighton Johnson re-emphasized the need to properly recognize and reward teachers for their continued effort in developing the minds of Jamaica’s future leaders.

Mr. Johnson also stressed the importance of providing teachers with the resources needed to carry out their duties effectively.

National Education Week is being observed under the theme “Preserving the legacy: prioritizing access and equity in education”.
