A magnitude 4.2 earthquake was felt in sections of the island, last evening.

The earthquake unit said it occurred at about 8:02 pm.

The epicentre was located approximately 5km south of Hope Bay, in Portland.

The quake was also felt in Kingston and St. Andrew, and St. Thomas.
