Excelsior breaks drought at Penns
Excelsior High broke a 57-year drought at the Penn Relays by storming to victory in the boys 4×100 meters Championship of America final.
The boys from Mountain View Avenue delivered a stunning performance in front of cheering Jamaican fans storming to the win in 40.45 seconds.
They were led by the quartet of Ryiem Walker, Damor Miller, Malike Miller, and Lennon Green and they finished ahead of Kingston College, 40.53, and Herbert Morrison 40.56 seconds.
Meanwhile, Team Jamaica featuring Oshane Bailey, Tyquondo Tracey, Ramone Barnswell and Sandy Dawson won the men’s 4×100 Meters in the Olympic Development Series in 39.59 seconds to finish ahead of Ghana 39.71.
Team Jamaica had to settle for second place in the female event in 44.11 seconds behind Spain who won in 43.97 seconds. The team included, Jodean Williams, Yanique Dayle, Remona Burchell and Shakoria Wallace.
