St. James police set up safe school task force in response to rising concerns about violence involving school children
The St. James police have set up a safe school task force in response to rising concerns about violence involving school children.
It comes in the wake of reports that a dispute between two male students of the Irwin High School resulted in one being killed and the other arrested.
Dead is 15-year-old Raniel Plummer.
Commander for the St James police division Superintendent Eron Samuels is urging students to find other, more amicable ways of resolving disputes.
Meantime, Deputy Superintendent Michael Moore said the task force will help prevent a recurrence of situations, similar to what took place at the Irwin High School.
