Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang says about 1500 more CCTV cameras are needed to provide comprehensive coverage of critical areas in the country
National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang says about 1,500 more closed circuit television ( CCTV) cameras are needed to provide comprehensive coverage of critical areas in the country.
He made the statement yesterday at the handing over ceremony for 210 cameras from the Republic of Korea to the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
According to Dr. Chang, despite the generous donation by the Korean government, Jamaica still needs to acquire more cameras.
He said this would aid the police in maintaining order and guaranteeing safety.
He reiterated that it is the priority of the government to take advantage of new technology.
