Mayor of Lucea Sheridan Samuels has expressed disappointment in what he says is the National Water Commission, NWC’s inability to supply potable water to customers in Hanover.

According to Mayor Samuels, who is also Chairman of the Hanover Municipal Corporation, the parish has too many rivers to be in a water crisis.

During Thursday’s meeting of the Corporation, Mayor Samuels stated that it is the municipality’s minor water supply systems that are preventing a full-blown catastrophe in the parish.

He said while the corporation has received minimal funding from the Ministry of Local Government, to truck water to the worst affected communities, the parish’s two Members of Parliament, Tamika Davis and Dave Brown, should also join forces, to ensure that residents have reliable access to clean water.
