JCTU expecting formal letter from Finance Ministry today, following wage talks on Saturday
President of the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions, JCTU, St. Patrice Ennis says he is to receive a letter from the Finance Ministry today detailing key points of wage discussions between the group and ministry.
This after the union and ministry met on Saturday, after the JCTU issued a letter to Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke, giving a ten-day ultimatum for him to meet with them to settle outstanding wage issues.
Mr. Ennis says during Saturday’s meeting the minister promised that a formal letter would be sent to them on Monday.
However, Mr. Ennis says that letter was not received yesterday, but he expects it by the end of today.
He also expects that the letter will hash out the grievances and agreements of the group and ministry.
