PNP supporters protest at EOJ headquarters over delayed election results
Supporters of the People’s National Party, (PNP), gathered at the Electoral Office’s headquarters on \Duke Street in Kingston today to protest the delay in announcing the Local Government Election results.
The group of about a dozen people, clad in party colours and bearing placards, called on the EOJ to announce the results.
Speaking with Irie Fm News, one of the supporters questioned why the counting is taking so long.
The supporters claimed that the PNP won the election, while calling for the results to be released today.
Meanwhile, President of the People’s National Party Mark Golding, has assured PNP supporters that the party is monitoring the final counting of ballots and will address any discrepancy.
In a statement today, Golding noted that integrity will prevail.
He urged party supporters to ‘hold tight’.
