Three weapons seized on Election Day
Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson says three firearms were seized in separate incidents across the country on election day.
This, as police presence was ramped up for the Local Government Election.
Providing an overview of the day, Commissioner Anderson noted that police teams were deployed to their respective locations from as early as 4: 30 AM.
He said there were only a few incidents that required police intervention.
In one of the incidents in flanker, a St. James man was fatally shot by members of the security forces.
A firearm was also seized.
Major General Anderson added that the other incidents on the day were minor, and voting was largely peaceful.
