Sections of roadways in Brown’s Town, St. Ann which were blocked by residents protesting water supply issues and poor road conditions, this morning, have been cleared.

The roadways which were blocked with debris such as lit tyres, include those leading to Runaway Bay, Bamboo, and Discovery Bay.

A blockade was also mounted at the Brown’s Town Community College.

Head of the St. Ann police, Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell said the roadblocks which were set up at about 3:30 AM, affected scores of commuters including students.

He said the roadways have since been cleared and lawmen are monitoring the situation.

The residents’ complaints are also to be addressed by the relevant agencies.
