Golding wants Holness disqualified from future elections if statutory declaration remains uncertified

Opposition leader Mark Golding has suggested that Prime Minister Andrew Holness should not contest another election unless his statutory declaration is certified.

Certain categories of public officials and workers, including the prime minister and opposition leader, are required to file their statutory declaration to the Integrity Commission every year, and have it certified.

Mr. Golding noted that the IC reportedly still has issues relating to the prime minister’s declaration.

Speaking at a press briefing today, Mr. Golding said until the prime minister’s statutory declaration is certified, he should be disqualified from re-election.
