The 2024/2025 parliamentary year commences today (February 15), with the ceremonial opening of parliament to be held at George William Gordon House.

The ceremony is set to get underway at 11 AM, with Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen, delivering the throne speech outlining government’s legislative agenda for the upcoming parliamentary year. 

It will also see the traditional ‘March to Gordon House’ led by the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition.

Following the ceremony, the House of Representatives will reconvene at 2:00 PM for the tabling of the 2024/2025 Estimates of Expenditure.
