Implementation of new income tax threshold will not have negative impacts for the economy – Holness
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has assured that the implementation of the improved version of the income tax threshold will not have negative impacts for the economy.
The threshold is the figure above which workers are required to pay income tax.
Currently, it is $1.5 million.
The Prime Minister while speaking to Jamaica Labour Party supporters in Clarks Town, Trelawny, on Saturday, announced the “1.5, 2.0” plan.
He did not indicate what the new threshold would be.
Speaking to party supporters in Portmore, St. Catherine, last night (February 11), Mr. Holness said government is careful in its management of the economy, and as such persons with concerns can put their minds at ease.
