President of the Peoples National Party Mark Golding has expressed confidence that the PNP will be victorious in the upcoming Local Government Election.

He was reacting to Thursday’s announcement of the election date.

Nomination day will be February 8, while electors will go to the polls on February 26.

Mr. Golding said the PNP has been waiting, preparing, and is now ready to take on the Jamaica Labour Party.

Mr. Golding expressed hope for a free and fair election.

He also urged party supporters to abide by the rules, while campaigning.
