The Aquatic Sports Association of Jamaica, (ASAJ) is warning citizens against entering large bodies of water when intoxicated to prevent drowning this holiday season.

Speaking with IRIE FM news, newly-elected ASAJ President, Lance Rochester noted that for many people, the festive season is a time of celebration, which involves parties and the consumption of alcohol.

He said the use of alcohol and entering large bodies of water are a dangerous combination.
