Police remind Jamaicans that firecrackers are illegal
The police are reminding the public that the use of firecrackers is illegal.
Fire crackers are usually used by persons during the Christmas holiday.
However, Assistant Commissioner of Police Gary Mckenzie says fire crackers when lit create sounds similar to gunshots.
He says persons found using the explosives will be arrested.
While noting that the police do not want to put a damper on the enjoyment of citizens, ACP McKenzie says they will be brought to court if they do not obey the law.
