Flooding and landslides impact several roads in Portland
Several roadways were impacted by flooding and landslides today (December 23) as heavy rains lashed sections of the island.
Portland was the most affected parish.
The National Works Agency (NWA) reported major flooding in the Rio Grande Valley.
The agency noted that the Windsor to Moore Town Road was impassable as a result.
A section of the road from Breastworks to Windsor Rivers View, was also blocked by a landslide.
The NWA noted that heavy equipment had been mobilized to clear the blockage.
Meantime, IRIE FM News understands that sections of Port Antonio were also flooded.
The Met Service has indicated that showers will continue to impact most parishes up to Tuesday (December 26).
