A female perished in a house fire on Shortwood Lane, in Grants Pen, St. Andrew, this morning.

Her identity has not yet been released.

Preliminary police reports are that at about 2:57 a-m residents saw fire coming from a house and alerted the Fire Brigade.

Upon their arrival, a one bedroom board structure was seen engulfed in flames.

During cooling down operations, the female’s charred remains were found amongst the rubble.
