Charges are to be laid against a 17-year old boy, after he was reportedly held with a gun on the compound of a high school in St. Catherine.

Reports are that about 8:00 p.m on Friday., a team of officers was on duty at the school where an event was in session.

Upon seeing the lawmen, the boy reportedly acted in a manner which aroused their suspicion.

The teen was accosted and searched and a Beretta 9 milli metre pistol was allegedly seen in his bag.

He was arrested for possession of a prohibited weapon.

Investigations are ongoing.
