Gregory Park Primary administration calls on government to aid in improving school’s security
The administration of the Gregory Park Primary School in St Catherine is calling on the government to aid in improving the school’s security.
The call follows Thursday’s shooting incident on the compound.
An unidentified man was fatally shot by the police about 8:15 a.m, while school was in session.
The lawmen say a taurus 9 millimetre pistol with a magazine containing three rounds of ammunition was also seized during the incident.
Principal of the institution Richard Williams wants further improvement to the perimeter wall and the installation of closed-circuit television cameras.
Mr Williams is also calling on citizens remember schools are places of learning.
Mr Williams says the nation has a responsibility to care for its children and expresses hope that communities will do better.
