The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) has indicated that no permit will be granted for construction of structures in some areas, unless proper soil testing has been conducted by approved professionals.

Mayor of Kingston, Delroy Williams notes that some areas of the parish suffered significant damage from the recent earthquake and subsequent heavy rains. 

He says these events have contributed to soil instability.
