Deputy Commissioner of Police Clifford Blake wants continuation of SOE in St James to apprehend more gang members
It is more than a week since a State of Emergency (SOE) was declared in St James, and one senior officer is highlighting the need for its extension to allow for the apprehension of gang members who remain in the parish.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Clifford Blake expressed the view, following the apprehension of a suspect in the Salt Spring triple murder. Two schoolboys were killed in the incident.
DCP Blake explained that after the imposition of the SOE, many gang members ran to parishes such as Hanover and Trelawny.
Despite this migration, DCP Blake said many remain in St James, and therefore, the security forces cannot relent in their operations.
