100% of NCB iABMs now accepting polymer banknotes
The National Commercial Bank Jamaica (NCB) says all of its Intelligent Automated Banking Machines (iABMs) have been upgraded to accept and dispense the recently introduced polymer banknotes.
In a statement, NCB noted that the upgrade was completed last month.
Meantime, NCB said efforts continue to expand its ABM network.
The bank explained that it recently added five new iABMs – which can deposit and dispense cash – and replaced 60 regular cash-dispenser ABMs, which were at the end of their life cycles.
These bring NCB’s fleet to 141 iABMs and 157 regular cash-dispenser ABMs, giving Jamaicans access to almost 300 ABMs islandwide.
NCB also noted that several of the machines which were previously removed due to security concerns are being strategically redeployed to new locations to further enhance service availability for customers.
