Agriculture Minister, Floyd Green to table amendments to Agriculture Produce Act this month to clamp down on praedial larceny
Agriculture Minister, Floyd Green says he intends to table amendments to the Agriculture Produce Act this month to clamp down on praedial larceny.
Mr Green noted that praedial larceny has been the biggest barrier to the small ruminant industry, but the Government will not allow criminals to continue to stunt the sector’s growth.
He explained that the amendments will, among other things, seek to ensure harsher penalties for those who commit praedial larceny.
While the Government works to tackle the issue from a legislative perspective, Mr. Green said cops will continue their efforts to apprehend those who threaten the livelihoods of the nation’s farmers.
