Jamaica needs legislation that specifically treats a person who harms children as an enemy of the State – Crawford
Opposition Spokesperson on Youth, Damion Crawford says the killing of 6-year-old Ariana Salmon, in St Andrew yesterday has reinforced the view that Jamaica needs legislation that specifically treats a person who harms children as an enemy of the State.
Ariana was among three others who were killed in a drive-by shooting incident along Delano Avenue.
The other deceased are 42-year-old Amari Salmon and 34-year-old Michael Smith.
A fourth person was shot and wounded in the incident.
Mr. Crawford says if the country is serious about the lives of Jamaicans, especially children, stringent legislation must be implemented to address these types of murderers.
