Public dental surgeons continue industrial action
Public dental surgeons are continuing industrial action, as they await a response from the Government on the ongoing wage negotiations.
That’s according to the President of the Union of Clerical Administrative and Supervisory Employees, Vincent Morrison.
More than 80 dental surgeons took industrial action yesterday following the breakdown of negotiations with the Ministries of Health and Finance.
Speaking to IRIE FM news, Mr Morrison said the employees have been awaiting a response since April and the industrial action will continue until they receive a response.
Mr Morrison said when the sides met in April, he thought the Government understood the plight of the surgeons.
Negotiations have been ongoing since last year but the dental surgeons say offers made to them are unsatisfactory, and as such, they decided to take industrial action starting yesterday.
