A school boy who allegedly faked his kidnapping in an attempt to defraud his mother of money could be charged with public mischief, among other offences.

Zone Four Commander for Little London and Negril, Deputy Superintendent Shaunjaye Mitchell told IRIE FM news that a missing person report was submitted but following investigations, the child was found in Green Island in Hanover.

DSP Mitchell said following further probes, the child confessed that he had staged the kidnapping.
