UHWI to treat children at no cost, effective October 2
Effective October 2, children under 18 years will not be charged when they visit the University Hospital of the West Indies.
The move is part of the Health and Wellness Ministry’s response to the dengue outbreak, which was declared at the weekend.
The Ministry had reported that most of the cases involved young children, prompting measures to monitor the illness among persons within this group.
Director of Health Services and Planning in the Ministry, Dr. Nadine Williams said steps are being taken to mitigate the dengue threat.
She was speaking during a Post-Cabinet press briefing yesterday.
