Abigail Martin wins silver on day two of 2023 Junior Pan Am Championships
Abigail Martin claimed another medal for Jamaica to top the morning session on today’s second day of the 2023 Junior Pan Am championships in Puerto Rico.
She took silver in the women’s discus event with a best effort of 55.47 meters to finish behind Julia Tunks of Canada who won at 56.98 meters
In the meantime all the other Jamaicans in action this morning made progress in their events.
Richard Hall and Daniel Beckford advanced to the final of the men’s 110 meter hurdles, while Asharri Ulet booked her place in the final of the women’s 100 meter hurdles.
Hall posted 13.73 seconds to win heat 1, while Beckford placed 3rd in his event in 13.66 seconds to advance to this evenings final with the 2nd and 5th fastest times respectively.
In the women’s 100 meter hurdles Asharria Ulett made progress when she clocked 13.55 seconds for second place in heat one, to advance with the third fastest time
In action this evening will be Shaquan Dunn and Kobe Lawrence in the men’s discus, Barrain Smith in the men’s 15 hundred meters, Dejanea Bruce in the women’s high jump and Royan Walters and Demario Prince in the men’s long jump.
Tonyann Beckford will compete in the women’s 400 metres alongside Dejanea Oakley, while Enrique Webster and Delano Kennedy will be in the men’s event.
