786 persons murdered across the island as at last Saturday
Some 786 persons were murdered across the island as at July 29, this year.
That’s according to the latest crime data from the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
The murders represent an 11.8 per cent decline, when compared to 891 murders committed in the same period, last year.
All divisions recorded murders, with St. James leading the tally at 119, followed by St. Andrew South with 73.
Meanwhile, there were also declines in rapes, robberies, and break-ins.
Cases of rape saw a 24.9 per cent reduction.
Robberies went down by 119, from 547, to 428, while break-ins decreased by 74, from 592, to 518.
