President of the (JAAA) Garth Gayle elected as one of two vice presidents for NACAC
President of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) Garth Gayle has been elected as one of the two vice presidents of track and field regional governing body, the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association, (NACAC)
This took place at the Nacac council meeting in Costa Rica on Sunday ending an eight year absence of a Jamaican serving as a council member – Gayle served as council member back then.
Before that the late Neville Teddy Mckook served as president of Nacac between 2007 and 2013.
In the voting contest on Sunday, Gayle defeated Howard Cornelius of Antigua by a vote of 16 to 12.
The Cayman Islands Cydone Mothersil was voted in as the female Vice President.
Bahamian Mike Sands was returned unopposed as president of Nacac.
The council will serve a four year term.
