Prime Minister Holness says it’s a great time to invest in Jamaica
It’s a great time to invest in Jamaica – that’s the word from Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
This, as he wooed potential investors from the global digital services sector.
Jamaica is re-launching its re-imagined outsourcing proposition to hundreds of entrepreneurs, business leaders and executives from multinational corporations, global startups, and trade promotion organizations at the outsource to Latin America and the Caribbean global digital services summit 02LAC, in Montego Bay, St. James.
Speaking at the event yesterday, Mr. Holness said Jamaica is aggressively pursuing policies to accelerate economic growth.
He said Jamaica has recovered from the worst global health and economic crisis in one hundred years.
Mr. Holness stated that despite the strong economic performance the administration is cognizant that the global economic headwinds have not abated, and the global economic outlook remains highly uncertain.
He said Jamaica’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic was undertaken in a judicious manner, always making sure not to compromise the long term economic prospects.
He also updated the meeting on Jamaica’s plans to become a digitized society.
Jamaica is the first English-speaking nation from the Latin America and Caribbean bloc to host this summit.
02LAC was created by the Inter-American Development Bank’s integration and trade sector, with the goal of unleashing the region’s full potential in the global digital services sector.
