Sections of Clarendon flooded following days of heavy rainfall
There have been reports of flooding in at least one parish as heavy rains continue to impact the island.
Irie FM News understands that several parts of Clarendon are inundated due to the showers.
It’s reported that the flood prone Guinep Road in May Pen has been impacted significantly.
Mayor of May Pen Winston Maragh says actions have been taken to remedy the decades old issue.
Noting that the town centre has outlived its drains, the mayor says he has met with the National Works Agency, NWA about the matter.
He adds that while not major, there have been reports of flooding in other low-lying areas of the parish.
The NWA is reportedly monitoring the situation.
