Police Commissioner says at least 5 categories of major crimes are down
Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson said while it may not appear so at least 5 categories of major crimes are down this year compared to last year.
Major crimes include murders, robberies and rapes.
Speaking at a Jamaica Constabulary Force stakeholders meeting in Hanover, today Commissioner Anderson noted that the spike in murders in the parish is back under control.
He added that there have been reductions in 5 categories of major crimes across the island.
Commissioner Anderson acknowledged however, that much more needs to be done to address crime in the country.
He said more persons are concerned about incidents of crime, because social media has made such information more accessible.
