JAPHI Says Jamaica has lost moral footing

The Jamaica Association of Public Health Inspectors, JAPHI, has expressed concern that the country has lost its moral footing.

This following the murder of retired public health inspector, 90-year-old Kenneth Downer on Thursday.

He was reportedly shot and killed at his home on Huntley Crescent, in Browns Town, St.Ann.

Speaking with Irie-FM News, JAPHI President Michael Myles says Downer served as Chief Public Inspector for St.Ann for many years.

He said it is a dire situation when persons who have served the country well cannot retire in peace.

He called on Jamaicans, including the church, to implement social strategies to reduce crime and improve the morality of Jamaicans.
