NSWMA worker shot dead, another wounded in attack in St. Catherine
The police are probing a gun attack in which one National Solid Waste Management Authority, NSWMA worker was killed and another wounded in Waterford, St. Catherine, this morning.
Dead is 20-year-old Shakesh James of Cockburn Pen, Kingston 11.
Reports are that at about 9am, James and another worker were putting garbage into a truck, when they were pounced upon by gunmen who opened fire hitting them.
The wounded people were taken to hospital where James was pronounced dead and the other worker admitted in stable condition.
Executive Director of the NSWMA Audley Gordon has expressed sadness at the incident.
