AG says there is significant room for improvement in accountability and governance processes at MOH
Auditor General, Pamela Monroe Ellis says there is significant room for improvement in the accountability and governance processes at the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
Officials from the Ministry are at this time facing questions at Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee regarding the Ministry’s COVID-19 expenditure and its general performance.
Giving the opening statement at the Committee, Mrs. Monroe Ellis highlighted some of the issues of concern regarding the Ministry.
She noted that the Ministry’s response, that action is being taken to address the deficit is not adequate as the same commitment was given in 2018, with no resolution.
In his opening remarks, Permanent Secretary in the Health Ministry, Dunstan Bryan suggested that the reports were lacking in context in some regards.
