JTA President says just completed compensation review has left many teachers upset, disappointed and de-motivated
Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) President La Sonja Harrison says the just completed compensation review has left many teachers upset, disappointed and de-motivated.
The President’s comment follows salary-related issues within the Education Ministry that left many teachers having to wait more than a week to receive their march salary and retroactive payments.
Many teachers who were paid, also reported anomalies in their salaries.
Noting that the entire episode was disheartening, Mrs Harrison says the Government’s commitment to ensuring that teachers would have been better off has not materialized in all teachers’ salaries.
Mrs Harrison is demanding that the myriad of problems discovered in the implementation of the compensation review be dealt with forthwith.
