The Education Ministry says it is working with the Accountant General’s Department and commercial banks to ensure glitches related to the payments of March salaries for public sector teachers are cleared.

This, as scores of teachers have not yet received their march salaries and retroactive payments due to anomalies.

While some teachers received their salaries yesterday (March 27), approximately 1,400 of the educators who have been anticipating their salaries under the restructured compensation system will have to wait until Friday to get their wages, due to errors.

IRIE FM news understands that many more teachers, even some of those who have gotten paid are also affected by errors.

In a statement today, the Education Ministry said it is working with the relevant stakeholders to have the issues rectified and the teachers paid.
