Twenty people homeless after fire destroys several homes downtown Kingston
Sixteen adults and four children are now homeless, following a fire on West Street in downtown Kingston, this morning (March 10).
Public Relations Officer for the Jamaica Fire Brigade, Emeleo Ebanks told IRIE FM News that after receiving a call about the fire at 8 o clock this morning, six units responded to help extinguish the blaze, at the tenement dwelling.
He said the estimated loss is $4.7 million.
Investigators are still working to ascertain the cause of the fire.
