Public outcry over US proposal to hike visa fees by over 250% for foreign entertainers
The Jamaican entertainer’s ability to tour the United States in the future may be severely affected by a United States Department of Homeland Security DHS proposal to raise the visa fees for foreign musicians by over 250 percent.
This according to President of Billboard’s Top Independent Reggae Label in the world, Ineffable Records, Adam Gross.
Speaking with Music News today, Adam explained the details of the proposal.
He is warning that if allowed to go ahead, Jamaican artistes will be among those severely affected.
Speaking on what can be done to prevent the measure, Mr. Gross is urging persons to go to the website regulations.gov and voice their disapproval, noting that only 3 days remain for the public to comment on the proposed measure.
There has been an outcry from the entertainment industry in the United Kingdom against the proposed hike in U.S visa fees for performers.
