UWI Mona administrators meet with representatives of Chancellor and Mary Seacole halls following protest
The administration of the University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona met with representatives of Chancellor and Mary Seacole Halls today, following a protest last night by disgruntled students from both halls.
The protest followed an incident involving students and hall administrators.
There has been no official report of what occurred.
During last night’s protest the upset students called for the removal of Dr. Nadeen Spence, the Students Services and Development Manager for Mary Seacole Hall.
Meantime, in a release today, the UWI Mona Guild of Students called for swift investigations and interim administrative actions in relation to the incident.
The Guild said it renounces any and all acts of violence, and encouraged the parties involved to make formal reports of the matter to the authorities, so that a thorough and complete investigation can be conducted.
