Domestic violence accounts for a third of murders in St Ann for 2022
Domestic conflicts accounted for a third of the murders recorded in St. Ann, last year (2022).
Commanding officer for the division, Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell, made the announcement while speaking at a domestic violence intervention pop–up, in Ocho Rios, on Tuesday.
SSP Powell said of the 65 murders recorded, 24 were as a result of domestic conflicts.
He expressed hope, that the police’s efforts, at raising public awareness, will result in more people resolving matters, without violence.
