Reggae Boys beaten 2-1 by Guadeloupe in Concacaf Under 17 Championship
In their quest to book a spot in the last 16 of the concacaf under 17 championship in Guatemala, Jamaica’s national under 17 Reggae boys suffered a setback last night, after going down 2-1 to Guadeloupe.
The Jamaicans took a first half lead in the group C’ fixture , courtesy of a 41st minute strike from Ronaldo Barrett.
However, on the resumption the Jamaicans lost Barret who was shown red in the 52nd minute.
Guadeloupe then pulled level through Willan Jacques who scored in minute 77, before Yian Moloza found the winner a minute from full time .
With the result the young reggae boys who opened their campaign with a 4-2 win over Cuba on Sunday, faces group C’ leaders Costa Rica in their final group game tomorrow for a place in the round of 16 .
Elsewhere on the night in group D’’Haiti turned back Suriname 3-nil .
In the meantime, Panama, Mexico, Canada and the USA have all booked their spots in the last 16.
