Nothing new: Opposition criticizes Govt plans outlined in throne speech
Opposition Leader Mark Golding says he is not impressed by the objectives outlined for the new financial year by Governor General Sir Patrick Allen during his throne speech this morning.
Sir Patrick gave the speech during the ceremonial opening of parliament.
Among the flagship projects to be advanced, is the new parliament building.
Additionally, several pieces of legislation are to be implemented.
Speaking to reporters following the opening ceremony, Mr. Golding said the objectives outlined are not new.
He said the government has a habit of announcing plans but not actually moving forward with them.
Mr. Golding also lamented that there was no clear plan outlined to tackle crime, or at risk youths and communities.
