Normality returns to Registrar General’s Department, following sick-out
Staff at the offices of the Registrar General’s Department (RGD) are back on the job following a sick out, yesterday (February 13).
The workers were restive about the government’s restructured compensation system.
Several of the RGD’s locations were affected by the sick-out, including the St. Ann’s Bay, Port Antonio and the Savanna la mar offices which were closed.
Following the sickout, a meeting was held yesterday afternoon, between the workers and their union— the Jamaica Civil Service Association (JCSA).
Speaking to IRIE FM News this morning, Chief Executive Officer of the RGD, Charlton McFarlane said normal operations have resumed.
