Omar Mcleod settles for a second place finish at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic
Rio Olympic 110 metres hurdles champion Omar Mcleod had to settle for a second place finish this afternoon at the New Mexico Collegiate classic.
He clocked 7.61 seconds in the men’s 60 meter hurdles to finish behind Omotade Ojora who posted 7.58 seconds Phillip Lemonious ended at the back of the field in 9.03 seconds
Mcleod clocked 7.62 seconds earlier to book his place in the final while Lemonious was 2nd in his heat in 7.72 seconds.
Yesterday Lamara Distin topped the field in the women’s high jump where she produced an effort of 1.94 metres.
Brianna Lyston made her indoor debut at the same meet yesterday………competing for Louisiana State University (LSU) in the women’s 200 meters, Lyston placed 3rd in her heat in the 23.54 seconds for an overall 18th in the event.
Her compatriot Kevona Davis running for Texas Tech was second in her heat in 23.22 seconds to finish 9th overall.
