Teachers again reject Govt offer; repeat call for liveable wage
The island’s public teachers have again rejected the government’s offer under the public sector restructured compensation programme.
Delegates of the Jamaica Teachers Association (JTA) voted in the majority against the offer during today’s special conference in Kingston.
JTA President La Sonja Harrison reiterated that the teachers want a liveable wage.
She said the JTA executive will seek to continue discussions with government in a bid to get a better offer.
