Jamaica seeing uptick in electric vehicle registrations
Jamaica is seeing an increase in the number of electric vehicles (EVs) being registered for use in the island.
That’s according to Legal Counsel at the office of Utilities Regulations (OUR) Nicole Morgan.
Speaking during the OUR’s virtual regional media workshop titled “electric vehicle – the road to a new market, yesterday (January 26), Ms. Morgan said more Jamaicans are showing interest in electric vehicles.
She noted further that Jamaica is on the right trajectory as it relates to readiness for the electric vehicles market.
Ms. Morgan noted, however, that infrastructure must be improved for the large-scale transition to electric vehicles.
