Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke to make policy address on regulation of financial sector today
Finance Minister, Dr. Nigel Clarke is to make a policy address on the regulation of the financial sector today.
This is in the wake of a multi-million dollar fraud at Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL) which saw several people, including renowned Jamaican athlete Usain Bolt and some elderly investors being impacted.
Last week, Dr. Clarke announced that the Head of the Financial Services Commission, Everton McFarlane submitted his resignation after the Commission came under scrutiny over its oversight of SSL.
Dr. Clarke said matters relating to the regulation of the financial sector will be addressed during a press conference in Kingston this afternoon.
